About_

I’m Nuo Chen - a gameplay programmer who works across both major engines: Unity (C#) and Unreal Engine 5 (C++). I specialize in multiplayer networking, combat systems, and gameplay architecture, with shipped experience ranging from 1v1 online shooters to LAN card games. More recently, I’ve moved into AI engineering — context engineering, prompt engineering, and agent harness design — and shipped LLM-powered tools like PotPlayer Ollama Translate that fold local and cloud LLMs into real workflows.

Beyond games, I design and ship full-stack web platforms end-to-end - most recently ForzaDrift, a production Next.js / PostgreSQL leaderboard service with custom authentication, anti-abuse systems (rate limiting, dual CAPTCHA), and Cloudflare deployment.

I’ve worked at both ends of the scale - leading programming on indie game dev teams and shipping entire games solo - and currently I’m pursuing a Master’s in AI engineering, studying context engineering, agent harness design, and LLM evals while prototyping how these fold into the game-dev pipeline.

B.Sc. Game Development in UTS

2020 - 2023

Led programming for a 3D exploration detective game (Unity, C#) in a five-person team. Architected the complete game system - gameplay loop, interaction framework, UI, and progression across five themed levels. Designed and built the tutorial and first level while managing team coordination and code integration.

Contract Gameplay Programmer

2023 - 2025

Worked as a freelance gameplay programmer across multiple commercial projects using Unity and Unreal Engine. Built multiplayer gameplay systems, networking features, combat mechanics, and gameplay tools while collaborating with distributed teams and adapting to a variety of project requirements and production pipelines.
